Projects
Sadnat Shiluv is growing even bigger and stronger!
We are planning a myriad of projects that will create suitable physical,
social and emotional space and atmosphere that are integral
to enabling the daily operations and educational activities of the Sadna.
But we need committed to partners to help see these projects to fruition.
Some of these projects are already various stages of implantation
while others are still in the planning phase, all of them, however, need funding.
We invite you to partner with us in these auspicious ventures.
By lending your support to these projects, you will be partners
in fulfilling the dream and vision of integration.

Arts Complex
Together with the ongoing work of reaching personal goals and developing cognitive, occupational and physical abilities, we see great importance in enriching and expanding the emotional and behavioral spheres through various artistic avenues including creating handicrafts and artistic products in a pleasant atmosphere. It is with this in mind, that the Sadna makes every effort to have all its students participate in various enrichment classes in the arts complex. The complex serves an integral part of the Sadna’s employment network.
We are engaged in a variety of handicrafts and arts, from carpentry, ceramics, music and basket weaving. All the buildings of the complex are adjacent to each other but unfortunately there is not a common outdoor area that allows work outside the buildings and interaction between the different groups. The area is scattered and without a mutual educational and operational context. We made a detailed plan for a shared outdoor space for the complex that includes wooden activity areas, stone paths and benches, various shading and landscaping. The plan connects all the buildings into one common center, thus creating a pleasant and unique atmosphere suitable for arts and crafts.

Day Center
It is the responsibility of the Sadna to address the needs of the population that we serve at every stage in their lives. After 25 years of activity, many members began walking through the stages of aging. Individuals with special needs require different tools and solutions to see them through the aging process; both from an occupational perspective and from a medical and nursing perspective. We have already begun to prepare for the time when our ‘special employees' will no longer be able to be an active part of the work circle that is presently a vital part of their livs.
To this end, we started planning a therapeutic day center that would provide solutions for those special employees who are no longer able to be part of the employment system. At the new day center, we will provide services such as communication skills, occupational therapy, physical therapy and other paramedical services. The center will include work rooms adapted to jobs that can be held in a closed space. Participants with a low functional level will have activity rooms where they can work on independence, work programs that focus on movement and sensing and learning according to abilities. In the afternoons, classes will be held in conjunction with youth and elderly populations to provide the participants with more opportunity for integration into the community.
Total cost: 13,500,000 NIS
funds raised: 400,000 NIS
additional funds needed: 9,500,000 NIS

Hydrotherapy pool
We are constantly working to improve the lives of the workshop members on all levels, and as such, we place great emphasis on the physical welfare of our residents. Alongside the medical and paramedical treatments available in the Sadna, we are constantly engaging our residents in physical and sports activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Besides the challenges of aging that some of our residents are now facing, some of the residents need additional tools and opportunities for physical activity to maintain a healthy lifestyle. A therapeutic pool allows a space of calmness and strengthens mobility and flexibility. The water treatments are an empowering and different experience, which cannot be achieved with ordinary therapies.
We have begun the process of the architectural design and planning of a fifty sq.m. pool which will serve as a center for hydrotherapy for the Sadna residents as well as the greater Gush Etzion community. The center will offer individual and group therapy as well as swimming lessons and water activities.

Abu Clab Spring
Residents of the area and many tourists frequent the springs of Gush Etzion. One of the most unique and beautiful of them is Ein Abu Caleb, which lies at the foot of the vineyards of the area below Kibbutz Rosh Tzurim towards the west. But a few years ago, it was abandoned and neglected. Sadnat Shiluv decided to save this gem, and twice a week members of the gardening branch of our employment come to renovate the spring and its surroundings. With the help of the Farber family, the Sadna renovated the spring, added pools and observation points and turned the spring into a welcoming and beautiful place. The many visitors are impressed by the great amount of work put into the place, and at the Sadna members and special employees are able to take pride in the work they have done. This renovation allows them to highlight their abilities, not their limitations.
Currently the members of the Sadna are working on the maintenance of the place and further development is ahead of us. Access to the spring is problematic for private vehicles, and there is a desire to add wading pools and improve the surface to make the stay at the spring more pleasant.
